Maison & Objet 2. Design Highlights ! I spent five days working at the imm furniture fair in Cologne and then headed off to the Maison & Objet design fair in Paris. In Paris I had the time to roam the fair and bring back some design highlights for you. Without further delay, here are my design highlights from the Maison & Objet 2. Paris: Cinna France: The French high- end furniture brand Cinna surprised me with a vibrant and contemporary mix of furniture and a stunning hanging garden. I loved their collection of urban and cool furniture – in particular I was smitten by the new Humphrey armchair by designer Evangelos Vasileiou.
I also had the honor to be part of the official Maison & Objet jury and award my favorite discovery in hall 8. Cinna France made the cut with its fabulous booth design and a cool and contemporary furniture mix. Wiener GTV Design: While this brand name might sound cryptic to you, Thonet will be way clearer. In fact, Wiener GTV Design is part of the Thonet design family and featured a fantastic new collection at the Maison & Objet show. I loved the collection’s vibe that recalled the 1. Umbra Shift: The Canadian design label Umbra Shift showcased cool and playful designs such as a sculptural watering can, geometric terra- cotta planters, and a super funky magazine holder. Triple like! Ames Sala by Sebastian Herkner: This collection by designer Sebastian Herkner was made for the brand Ames and features a sublime collection of handmade pieces.
Pottery, wicker ware, home textiles – all handmade by small groups of artisans in Colombia. This is the kind of design I love: handmade, fair, sustainable, with a cultural heritage. Studio Macura: The Serbian/Dutch design duo at Studio Macura presented a sleek, pure design line of home accessories that mix nature elements with refined and sophisticate designs.
The result are beautiful pieces for contemporary homes. Look at the beautiful Lava single flower vase or the Livada fragrance vase! Eno Studio: The French design label Eno Studio is yet another cool design discovery. I loved the abundance of dusky pinks combined with velvety greens, brass, wood, and grey. I really liked the fun design pieces inspired by terrazzo flooring and the lovely plant accessories.
Definitely worth a closer look! Petite Friture: Well when I am in Paris it is normal that I discover even more French design, right? Hence I stumbled upon Petite Friture, a really fun design label from France. Their booth was rich in colour and shapes, from geometric to organic forms. It featured big colourful faux plants, pebble like cushions, cool cork side tables and more. Keep an eye on them!

Serax: Belgian brand Serax will not disappoint you if you like plants. A huge array of planters, lush greens, ceramics and tableware were set in scene with a fabulous hanging garden. Comfy seating areas, a bar, and long, flowing transparent curtains created an almost holiday like atmosphere at their booth. Do I have to mention they have a collection called . Now where did they get the inspiration for that?

Who knows: -)Studio Ilse / Zanat: Ilse Crawford’s . I love her latest collaboration with the Bosnian furniture brand Zanat. Their mutual results are wonderful wooden pieces ranging from benches, trays, chairs to lamps.
